JMC: Better very, very, very, late than never. Government decades late to wake up to the fact that decent people who work hard every day need somewhere to live. One snag ongoing over the last 6 decades that wealthy male politicians fail to realise even. Government attitude "I'm alright Jack". Banished - epic new series for BBC Two Starts Thursday March 5, New Series 1/7  9.00pm to 10.00pm

Date: 12.02.2015     Last updated: 20.02.2015 at 12.55pm

Category: BBC Two; Drama

At its heart, Banished is a story of survival. Though it is set in the stark historical reality of the founding of the penal colony in Australia in 1788 after the arrival of the First Fleet, it is not the story of Australia and how it came to be. Rather, it is a tale of love, faith, justice and morality played out on an epic scale in a confined community where the stakes are literally life and death.
