“The 4,500 athletes from the 71 competing nations and territories say goodbye to the 20th Olympic Games and each other, during a glittering ceremony at Hampden Park that celebrates Scotland’s way of life. The athletes could be so lucky, and have a chance to go spinning around if rumours of a special antipodean guest star prove to be true. All eyes will now be on the future as the baton is handed over to Gold Coast City, Australia, host of the 2018 Games. Presented by Gary Lineker, Clare Balding and Hazel Irving.
